AZA & BBG Member Experiences at #AZABBGIC2017
Over President’s Day Weekend, more than 4,000 of the Jewish community’s top teen leaders, educators, professionals, and philanthropists from around the world will convene together in Dallas. Between inspiring speakers, celebrating Shabbat, musical performances and immersing yourself in the local community, here are the ways that you, the Alephs and B’nai B’rith Girls of the International Order, can be involved in International Convention.
START PREPARING WITH YOUR COMMUNITY
As you reunite with old friends and create global bonds that will span way beyond your years in BBYO, spirit will serve as the crux of our International Convention. Traditions specific to your chapters, councils, and regions will shine. Remember, spirit is much more than just your clothing or your accessories - it’s also about how well you embody the Menorah Pledge Principles and Seven Cardinal Principles, the very foundation of our International Order. Throughout the weekend, we will be watching your communities participate in some friendly competition in an effort to win the Max F. Baer Spirit Gavel and the Anita Perlman Spirit Cup! Will you take it home?! If you have questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com.
applicationS DUE NOVEMBER 16
The International Convention Chapter Programming Showcase is back! Every chapter across the globe has the opportunity to submit an outstanding program to showcase for Alephs and BBGs from across the International Order at #AZABBGIC2017. The top 20 applicants will be selected to run their program at IC, gain valuable feedback from their peers through program evaluation and have the opportunity to win the Programming Excellence Award. We are looking for chapter programs that exemplify the best of AZA and BBG. This showcase will display a multitude of chapter and program types that will inspire every Aleph and BBG to create innovative and unique programming in their home chapters.
In an effort to continue to invest in excellent programming in our chapters, each program chosen for the showcase will be awarded $100 toward future chapter programming. Three programs will be selected for additional awards based on the program evaluations at International Convention in February.
- Bronze Programming Excellence Award - additional $50 toward future chapter programming
- Silver Programming Excellence Award - additional $150 toward future chapter programming
- Gold Programming Excellence Award - additional $300 toward future chapter programming
If your chapter is interested in running a program during the Chapter Programming Showcase, please click here to submit an application.
DUE JANUARY 15
Celebrating the achievements of Alephs and B’nai B’rith Girls is one of our longest standing traditions of our Orders. For those teens that have worked hard and dedicated themselves to the goals of BBYO, and thereby, the values of K’lal Yisrael, the Global Jewish community, we thank you. It is through AZA and BBG International Awards that we hope to congratulate and honor Alephs and BBG for their accomplishments. If you have questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org.

Responsibilities will range from blogging and social media to interviewing and presenting on camera to writing for print outlets in order to offer real-time updates at IC. If you have any questions about this opportunity, email email@example.com.

As IC 2017 draws near, it’s time to form the IC Teen Band! For the past four years, BBYO teens from all over the world have come together to form a band that performs at BBYO International Convention - last year’s participation shattered expectations and this year we’re bringing it back by popular demand. If you have any questions or rules about the submission process, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
DECLARATIons due january 2nd
The time has come to continue building our network of International leadership. Serving on the International Board is both an exceptional honor and an enormous responsibility. If you are interested in learning more about the structure of our International Board and the candidacy process, please review our Online Declaration Packet. If you have questions, email email@example.com.
LEGISLATION DUE JANUARY 2ND
One day before the International Convention body arrives, all Regional, Council and Country Presidents come together for the International February Executives Conference. During this time, your peers will learn about the newest initiatives, train together and most important of all, pass legislation to enact changes and create new reasons for our Order to celebrate. Just as we did at our North American August Executives Conference, we want to hear from you – what’s your vision? If you have questions, email firstname.lastname@example.org.
